Hi, I'm Kim!

Biologist, ecologist and scientific illustrator.

Science and art have always been intertwined in my life. Studying a scientific career expanded my observational skills, analysis, problem-solving, and learning; simultaneously, my passion for art made my passage through different subjects full of diagrams, sketches, and very elaborate notebooks. At the end of my degree, it was clear to me that I wanted to explore this path, leading me to take several courses and study for a postgraduate degree in Scientific Illustration in the Basque Country.

As a scientific illustrator, I want to give visual support to different specialists, especially in the areas that I am most passionate about, such as conservation biology, ecology, biodiversity, as well as health-related issues; to aid in the transmission and understanding of information to a specific or general audience

Combining my training in the scientific area with my graphic and scientific illustration skills, I am able to convey ideas, words, or processes rigorously and effectively through attractive images.

I love the learning process involved in each composition, I make schematic and descriptive illustrations, or infographics, using traditional or digital techniques.

I'm also a founder member of the scientific animation project Lanius Animatics (2020), where I participate mainly as an animator, along with other colleagues.
